Our longtime archivist, president, and friend Chri Our longtime archivist, president, and friend Chris Hunter passed away today.

Over his more than 25 years at miSci Chris worked tirelessly to preserve the history of science and technology, and to list all the treasures he kept safe would be far too long to post. His devotion to the Museum, to miSci's Archives, and to Schenectady can't be overstated. When we post historic photos, film, or artifacts here- it's only possible because of Chris's work.

We at the Museum are deeply saddened by his passing, but we're grateful to have known and worked with him. He leaves an inspiring legacy for us to follow as we go on.

This isn't a luxurious living room- it's actually This isn't a luxurious living room- it's actually a radio studio!

This photo from our archives (we added a touch of color) features a harpist playing for the radio station WGY nearly 103 years ago.

The lamp is actually a disguised microphone- it kept artists from being nervous back before microphones were common.

Another old gadget hidden in miSci's archives! Thi Another old gadget hidden in miSci's archives! This photo was published in a research center newsletter in August of 1980 and features a one of a kind car. Bob King, who worked on electric vehicles, combined a Bradley GT kit car body, a VW chassis, an electric motor and 12 golf cart batteries to make this unique roadster.

According to the newsletter it had a range of about 60 miles, took 6-10 hours to charge, and was fire engine red in color.
