To the 50,000 of you who stood at the reaction testing machine in Measure Up! trying to beat the high score: we saw you. We also saw the rematches.

For the past year, Dynavision International sponsored the exhibit and loaned us the machine that made it all happen. It's now heading back to Dynavision, and the exhibit will feel a little quieter without it.

Thank you, Dynavision International, for a year of fast hands, friendly competition, and a lot of "one more try." We couldn't have done it without you.

If you could use a night of fun, laughter, and light-heartedness, join us Friday, October 23, at 7:30 PM for Comedy in Retrograde. Our comedians will have you laughing your way into orbit, with no crash landing to worry about.

Fair warning: this showing is for adults 18 and up, so make sure to get a sitter. Tickets are $20, and the show runs about 60 to 70 minutes. Reserve yours at misci.org.

882 people. That's how many of you walked through our doors on Free Admission Day and we are still smiling about it.

Thank you to our friends at @mandt_bank for making the day possible. Because of their support, hundreds of families, neighbors, and first-time visitors got to explore the museum, look up at the stars, and spend a day being curious together.

And thank you to everyone who grabbed a spot and came out. You filled the galleries with questions and laughter, which is exactly what we hoped for.

Houston, we have a comedy show!

On Friday, October 23, three of the funniest family-friendly comedians are taking over the planetarium for Joking with the Stars, a family friendly night of laughs in our planetarium. It's 45 minutes of jokes the whole family can enjoy together, from the kid who's still learning what a punchline is to the grown-up who has heard every dad joke twice.

Joking with the Stars starts at 6 PM and is $10 per person, recommended for ages 5 and up. Grab your tickets at misci.org and bring the whole crew.

This Sunday, miSci is opening its doors a little differently. Sensory Sunday runs from 9 to 11 AM on October 11, a sensory-friendly time designed for families who need a quieter, more accommodating museum experience.

Lower lights, reduced sound, and a slower pace so every family can explore comfortably. Sensory Sunday happens the second Sunday of every month. We hope to see you there.

Every day at miSci, someone is leading a tour, helping a kid through an activity, or making sure a program runs the way it should. A lot of those individuals are volunteers.

This Saturday, October 10th, join us and see what volunteering here actually looks like, ask questions, and find a role that fits your schedule and your interests.

You don't need a science degree. Former engineers, retired teachers, college students, and curious neighbors have all found a place here. If you like people, questions, and the occasional "wait, how does that work?" moment, you'll fit right in.

Stop by from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, or tell a friend who's been looking for a way to get involved.
