Coffee Grinder
Late 19th Century
This coffee grinder was built in the late 1800s by the Enterprise Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, PA. Founded in 1864, the company was a producer of both home and industrial machines for food production, producing coffee grinders than ranged from countertop models like this one all the way up to freestanding models for bulk production. To use this particular model the roasted coffee beans would be added to the urn-like vessel on the top, and the milled grounds would be collected from the drawer below after grinding.
