🌕Two popular names for July’s moon are the Bu 🌕Two popular names for July’s moon are the Buck moon and the Thunder moon. 🦌⛈️

Just as the moon goes through its cycles, so do many other parts of nature. This is the time when young male deer (bucks) start to grow their antlers in earnest! The name “Thunder moon” comes from the Western Abenaki people due to the frequent thunderstorms this time of year. There are many other seasonal names for this moon, such as the Berry moon (Anishinaabe), Month of the Ripe Corn moon (Cherokee), and Raspberry moon (Algonquin, Ojibwe).

☄️Did you hear? NASA spotted a comet from anot ☄️Did you hear? NASA spotted a comet from another star system, and it's heading towards our solar system! This is only the third time in history that this has occurred.

This interstellar object, named 31/ATLAS, has no risk of coming to Earth, but will hurtle through our solar system. This is a rare chance for scientists to study an object from another planetary system.

The comet should be visible with a telescope through September, and be spotted again around December to next year. Scientists are hoping to discover and study more alien objects with the new Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile. ☄️
