🦁❤️April is one of the best months to see Leo the Lion! The constellation's question mark shape contains one of the brightest stars in our sky, Regulus. This name means "little king" or "prince" in Latin, but astronomers nicknamed it the “lion’s heart star” due to it's location within the constellation. Regulus is actually a multiple star system, but it's distance from us makes it appear as a singular bright star!

Today we are throwing back to 1905, with a photo of the first all-electric kitchen! 🍳⚡️ The kitchen belonged to GE Heating Devices Manager, Henry Hillman. It included a percolator, water heaters, an electric frying pan, a grill, and an oven. General Electric had yet to introduce their refrigerators, which came about 20 years later.

Scientists have been wondering how iguanas native

Scientists have been wondering how iguanas native to North America ended up in the remote islands of Fiji. Studies released last week say that these reptiles traveled miles across the ocean, adding up to about 1/5 of the Earth's circumference!

Researchers found that iguanas had float along the seas by using vegetation like uprooted plants, about 34 million years ago. The detachment of wildlife during bad storms could have led them on this unintentional journey. But iguanas are able to withstand extreme heat, starvation and dehydration. They also could have fed off of their veggie boat. So thankfully, these creatures were able to make the trip and find a new place to call home!

These findings could be the explanation for the diversity of species across the globe! 🦎🌊
