🍂🍁Happy Autumnal Equinox! Though it's not as 🍂🍁Happy Autumnal Equinox! Though it's not as big a deal today, the key points of Earth’s journey around the Sun have long attracted notice and celebration.

The two equinoxes mark the times that Earth’s axis is pointed along its path—in other words, when we are not tilted towards the Sun or away from it. Because of that our days are closer in length to our nights, our weather is temperate, and in Autumn the northern hemisphere’s nights are getting longer.

But with Autumn's shorter days and longer dark nights, we have more time to get out and see the light of the stars! So enjoy the stars, the colorful trees, and settle in to enjoy the travels of spaceship Earth.

🪐 Sunday 9/21/25 - When Saturn is opposite the Earth from the Sun we say it is in opposition! This is going to be when Saturn shines brightest and looks the largest this year, making this night and this week a great time to try and view the ringed planet.
When it is in opposition Saturn is acting a little like the Full Moon—it is at its brightest and it is rising as the Sun is setting. So when the sky is dark, Saturn will be out—look for it underneath the ‘Great Square of Pegasus’ (scroll back in our feed for more details 🤗)
