Friday, December 22nd - Use the Force Day

Grades K - 2 | 9 am - 12 pm | Magic of the Force
Soar into the science of Star Wars movies. Will the force be with you? Learn how forces act on Earth and in outer space. Investigate the magic of invisibility and the power of lights and lasers.

Grades K - 2 | 1 pm - 4 pm | Lights and Lasers
What are lasers used for?  Discover how to split a laser beam and investigate the properties of light and color. Make a spectroscope.

Grades 3 - 5 | 9 am - 12 pm | Physics of the Force
Calling all Jedi’s. Determine if the science in Star Wars movies is real. Investigate the laws of physics and light properties to determine if light-sabers, holograms, and levitating vehicles
could really exist.

Wednesday, December 27th - Bots and Astronomy Day

Grades K - 2 | 9 am - 12 pm | Twinkling Stars
Star light, star bright, what are stars made of? Join us as we investigate outer space. Identify constellations and explore the planets in our solar system.

Grades K - 2 | 1 pm - 4 pm | Robots @ Work
What is a robot? Compare robots in science fiction movies, cartoons, and in the real science world. Experiment with robot hands and build your own simple robot that moves.

Grades 3 - 5 | 9 am - 12 pm | Space Academy: Exploration Station ($35)
Space Station, this is Mission Control - we are testing the communication link.  Imagine you are a science team that is working to launch a probe into a comet!  You are an elite team of engineers and astronauts that will us a variety of  experiments to learn more about how NASA personal need to work together to have a successful mission experience.  This class is all hands-on!

Grades 3 - 5 | 1 pm - 4 pm | Exploding Supernova!
The biggest stars in the galaxy end their lives as supernova explosions! Students learn about how the largest stars die in supernova explosions, which stars in the sky are next to go, and make a pulsar to take home.

Thursday, December 28th - Invention and Engineering Day

Grades K - 2 | 9 am - 12 pm | All Aboard Trains!
Be a conductor and make your own conductor hat! Investigate steam, electrical, and maglev trains! Experiment with the trains in our holiday train exhibit!

Grades K - 2 | 1 pm - 4 pm | Be an Inventor!
Did you know that Silly Putty was invented by an engineer from General Electric? Create your own silly putty, discover inventions from the past, and explore some silly inventions. Submit an invention of your own to miSci’s Invention Convention!

Grades 3 - 5 | 9 am - 12 pm | Train Technology
How fast can trains travel? How can trains turn around corners? Discover the science behind steam engines, electrical trains, and maglev trains. Investigate the engineering of how trains turn. Explore the many trains in our Holiday train exhibit!

Grades 3 - 5 | 1 pm - 4 pm | Invention Workshop
What’s the difference between an invention and a discovery? Join this workshop to learn about important inventions of the past and test your engineering skills to design a hovercraft toy. Submit an invention of your own to miSci’s Invention Convention!
