Discover the science of planetary life, explore bodies of water, evaluate how human actions can impact Earth’s climate and discover potential next steps for humankind.
Monday – Weather vs. Climate
Learn about greenhouse gases, Milankovitch cycles, seasons and more. How has our atmosphere changed on different time scales and what is a hockey stick curve, anyway?
Tuesday – Mapping and Geology
Dive into the history of planet earth and discover how scientists study our home in the solar system. Explore and create different types of maps and learn what a half-life is.
Wednesday – Melting Glaciers
Learn about ablation, albedo and more as we study all things related to ice and ice melt on planet earth, past, present, and future.
Thursday – Earth’s Dynamic Ecosystem
How do animals and plants play a role in the earth’s climate? How have living things changed in response to changing environments on earth? Answer these questions with a day of experiential learning.
Friday – Future Energy and Climate Action
Be the solution! Explore different types of energy from electricity to fusion, solar, and wind. Engineer your own hydro-powered device and test it against your friends’ designs.
