Author's Corner: Anita Sanchez presents "Karl, Get Out of the Garden! Carolus Linnaeus and the Naming of Everything"
see details +

Author Anita Sanchez will be at miSci to present her newly-published book, Karl, Get Out of the Garden! Carolus Linnaeus and the Naming of Everything.

Sanchez's book is based on the great scientist Carolus Linnaeus who spent his childhood exploring his father's garden and classifying living organisms into a system that would became today's system of scientific classification.

Sanchez will use real scientific specimens - including feathers, animal bones, seashells, seeds, and insects - to explore Karl's simple system of classification. She will also explore Linnaeus' gardens and collections, which Linnaeus used to teach his students about nature.

Recommended for families, children in grades 2-5, and educators
